In the first such visit in more than one decade, Indian Minister of External Affairs S.M. Krishna will visit Israel from Jan. 9, reported local media Saturday. During the visit, Krishna will hold talks with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman and meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Simon Peres, reported local daily Indian Express.The last such visit by an Indian FM took place in 2000. Trade between India and Israel stood at 2.15 billion U.S. dollars in the January-May period this year, and at 4.74 billion U. S. dollars in 2010, according to the newspaper. However, relations with Israel is also a sensitive one for New Delhi, India has shown strong support to the Palestinians in the past, according to the newspaper.
