India is scheduled to conduct a joint military exercises with Singapore during the next five years, defence ministry said late on Wednesday. Indian Defence Minister AK Antony said both the countries have signed a bilateral agreement which calls for cooperation between the Indian and Singapore military for the periodic conduct of training and exercises in India. He said the existing agreement is valid for a period of 5 years until August, 2018. \"There are ongoing interactions and exchanges between the Armed Forces of India and Singapore in areas of mutual interest, including in the areas of training, joint exercises and functional exchanges,\" Antony said. He said as Singapore and India do not share a maritime boundary, there is no proposal for conduct of joint naval patrols.
