India said Monday that the recent \"racial attack\" on an 80-year-old turban-sported Sikh man in Britain was \"intolerable\", and urged strictest action against the guilty, local press reported. \"The Sikh community has contributed a lot to the development of those countries where they have settled, and especially to Britain, where Sikhs are present in fairly large numbers for over a century, \" Indian Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari told the media in the capital. \"Racial behavior is completely intolerable. If the British government does not act against the guilty person, then a very negative signal (would go out) to not just that community but other minorities too,\" the minister added The statement came in the wake of a video of the alleged attack last week on the Sikh man in Coventry, some 150 kms from London, surfacing on the Internet. British police have arrested a 19-year-old girl for the attack.
