House speaker receives Italian parliamentary delegation

Lower House Speaker, Atef Tarawneh, on Monday, said that eliminating terrorism is not only a military action, but also an intellectual war that should bring together international efforts to address this scourge.

During a meeting with an Italian parliamentary delegation, chaired by Italian Senate Vice-President, Linda Lanzillotta, Tarawneh said Jordan was among the first countries to warn of terrorism, which doesn't recognize religion and borders.

He added that the lack of a just solution to the Palestinian issue inflames tension and keeps the region struggling with violence and instability.

The house speaker also spoke about burdens Jordan has to endure, due to hosting refugees, voicing appreciation of Italy's support to the Kingdom.

The delegation hailed Jordan's stances, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, toward the region's issues and for hosting refugees.
