Tens of thousands of Muslim piligrims perform the evening prayer in the holy city's Grand Mosque

The imam of the Holy Mosque has urged pilgrims to avoid sectarian and political disputes while performing the hajj rituals.

Hajj is meant to bring all pilgrims to pray for Allah, the One and Only God, the imam said in Friday's sermon, stressing that all are equal before Allah.

The imam also advised pilgrims against stampeding and urged them to keep calm and to show mercy for the elderly.
