German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle intends to proceed to Israel and the Palestinian terrirtory next week to support the new peace negotiations in the middle east, the german foreign ministry announced here on Friday. The foreign ministry said in a statement issued here today that Westerwelle will meet next Sunday and monday with israeli president shimon peres and prime minister B. Netanyahu along with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Westerwelle\'s visit aims at expressing Germany\'s support to resume the direct peace negotiations between the palestinians and the israelis under the auspices of the united states. Westerwelle stressed that: \"We are convinced that first and foremost the middle-east peace process must be promoted through negotiations with the Palestinians. We will support measures which will bring us closer to the goal  a two-state agreement.\"
