France welcomed the electoral process in Mali and considered the presidential elections a consecration of the constitutional system. French President Francois Hollande said in a statement released today that the first remarks of the EU mission pointed to the absence of incidents despite the threats of a jihadist group in the first round of the presidential elections. Hollande noted that this electoral process is a consecration of Mali’s return to the constitutional system after the victory achieved on the terrorists and the liberation of territories.
