Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault

Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said that France and Iraq will organize an international meeting on the future of Iraq's Mosul city with 20 countries participating.

In statements on Tuesday, Ayrault said "We must anticipate, plan for the 'day after', and the stabilization of Mosul after the military battle," pointing out that Iran has not been invited to the meeting.

The Iraqi army, backed by US-led coalition, started yesterday a large scale military operation to retake Daesh-held Mosul, the second largest Iraqi city, from the terrorist group.
