A Dutch pilot has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempting to sell confidential documents to a Russian diplomat in the Netherlands. A district court in The Hague said former F-16 pilot Chris Vaneker made preparatory steps to contact the military attaché at the Russian Embassy, Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported on Wednesday. He wanted $670,000 for the information. The 13-year veteran of the Dutch air force has been in custody since March. He resigned in 2010 after serving in Afghanistan. Russia has yet to comment on the situation.
