A powerful fire has broken out at a Latvian military testing ground located 23 kilometers away from the Latvian capital, Riga. The grass went ablaze as a result of shooting from a Browning machine-gun. The flames spread to an area of 10 hectares, the press secretary of Latvia’s National Armed Forces told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. He blamed dry and windy weather for the fire which has partly been contained by now. No casualties have been reported.
