Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy met here today with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of his participation in the United Nations General Assembly\'s sixty-eighth session . Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Badr Abdel Atti said in a press statement today that Kerry and Fahmy discussed bilateral relations and developments in Egypt \'s internal scene , as well as regional issues of common concern , especially the Syrian and Palestinian issues . He added that Fahmy and Kerry also touched on the future map and reiterated the Egyptian government \'s commitment to implementing it on the grounds in order to achieves the legitimate demands of the Egyptian people for which they took to the streets on June 30. Abdel Atti pointed out that Fahmy stressed that the Egyptian government is committed to providing security to the Egyptian citizen and to fighting violence and terrorism in the framework of the law. He also stressed that the war against terrorism will not deter the Egyptian government from moving forward in the political process. Abdel Atti said that the meeting focused on ways to expand the common interests at the political level and to coordinate views and positions at the international fora. The Egyptian Foreign Minister also met with his Cypriot and Greek counterparts to continue consultations at the political, economic and trade levels to serve the common interests of the three countries.
