The Indictment Division of the Tunis Court of Appeal delivered on Friday a verdict on the extradition of former Libyan Prime Minister Baghdadi Mahmoudi to Libyan authorities after rejecting the same day the request to defer the examination of his case. Contacted by telephone, his Defence Counsel Mabrouk Kourchid said he was disappointed by the Court of Appeal decision, adding that the hearing had taken place in the absence of his client and the defence. Keeping Mr. Mahmoudi in detention is now unjustified, he also declared, since the extradition sentence has been passed, calling in this regard for the immediate release of his client until the Interim President of the Republic decides about Mr. Mahmoudi's case.
