An observer team from the European Union (EU) will come soon for the upcoming election in Madagascar, EU Representative to the country Leonidas Tezapsidis said on Wednesday during a workshop on election. \"We have a total of about 110 people team, including 10 staffs, 46 long-term observers, 50 short-term observers and logistics and safety servers,\" said the representative. \"A 9-member team will arrive at the end of this week. Long-term observers should arrive at the end of this month. They will stay about six weeks, including four weeks before the election and two weeks after,\" he added. Leonidas Tezapsidis said that the goal is to observe weaknesses so that EU can introduce innovations to improve in the electoral process in Madagascar. According to the electoral calendar issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENIT), the first round of presidential election in Madagascar was set for Oct. 25.
