The official spokesman for Ettakatol party Mohamed Bennour excluded, on Thursday, "any risk of an impasse in consultations with the Ennahdha movement and the Congress for the Republic Party" on key state positions, expressing hope to reach an agreement in the coming hours. In a statement to TAP news agency, he said that "contacts are going on to resume works of the three committees tasked with drawing up the action programme of the Government and the Constituent Assembly for the next period." "This process will not be interrupted. Leadership of Ettakatol is very enthusiastic about the results of the consultations which should be very satisfactory to the three sides," he said. Contacts and consultations continue at a sustained pace and could arrive at a decision in the next hours, he added. The spokesman for Ettakatol said that his party is still calling for the formation of a government that brings together all parties, takes into account the national interest and earns everybody's support, in such a manner as to speed up the examination of major issues, particularly the economic ones, and focus on drafting the Constitution to spare tensions to the country. The climate of tension that marked the consultations between Ettakatol, on the one hand, and Ennahdha and CPR, on the other one, takes place after the candidacy of the President of Ettakatol for the Presidency of the Republic was rejected, and against the backdrop of the recent statements made by Secretary General of Ennahdha Movement Hamadi Jebali regarding the Sixth Caliphate, prompting Ettakatol to "suspend" its participation in works of the three committees. Made up by experts from the three parties winners in the Constituent Assembly elections, the tripartite committees are the Political Reform Committee, the Economic and Social Reform Committee and the Legislation Committee.
