The health committee of Egypt’s People’s Assembly, the country’s lower house of parliament, has stated that the Tora prison is ready to receive former President Hosni Mubarak, Al Arabiya reports. Mubarak was placed in Tora’s hospital under the orders of the country’s interior minister, and is reported to suffer from tumors in his gall bladder and pancreas. Al Arabiya calls the health committee’s move a concession to protestors who complain that Mubarak was receiving special treatment by the ruling Military Council. Mubarak was ousted from power a year ago after ruling the country for three decades, and has since been put under arrest pending trial.
