Egypt has delivered the Arab group's speech before the 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for UN Affairs Amr el Geweli said.
In the speech, Geweli presented the executive programs of the Arab strategic plan that is based on a number of principles including those of the heavenly religions, especially Islam, which call for peace, tolerance, coexistence, accepting others and denouncing violence, extremism, terrorism and racial discrimination.
The plan is also based on the Arab League conventions, the relevant UN resolutions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the principle of self-determination of the Palestinian people, the senior diplomat said.
It highlights the Arab identity of Al Quds that is the cradle of all heavenly religions, he added.
"The forum is held in a critical time, in which some voices are calling for the clash among civilizations," Geweli said.
