Foreign Minister Sameh Shourky discussed on Thursday with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault the bilateral relations in light of a recent visit paid by French President Francois Hollande to Cairo.

In a phone conversation, the two sides also tackled the latest developments in the region and a French initiative to push the Palestinian-Israeli peace process ahead, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid. 

The French minister said that his country is interested in coordinating with Egypt to render the French initiative success.
