Egyptian Foreign Ministry said Thursday that Washington\'s decision to delay the handover of some military equipment to Egypt had the wrong in terms of timing and the context of bilateral relations. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Badr Abdul Atty said that the decision raised serious questions on whether the United States would provide a stable, strategic support to Egyptian security, particularly in light of the terrorist threats facing the country. Atty added that even the US assurances that it remains supportive of the Egyptian interim government is not enough to alleviate the concerns of the authorities. He stressed that Egypt was keen on maintaining good relations with the United States, but will make its decisions independently regarding its national security.
