Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker has received representatives from China's Dongfang Electric Corporation, which seeks to build a coal-fired power plant, with a capacity of 6,000 megawatts in el Hamraween area in Red Sea. 

The consultants of the project will be chosen within the upcoming few days, said Shaker during the meeting.

The project comes within the framework of attaining a strategy which aims to diversify energy resources.
