Denmark\'s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister David Cameron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel later this week, the Danish prime minister\'s office said in an official statement Monday. Thorning-Schmidt will travel to London on Tuesday to kick off a series of meetings with European Union (EU) leaders ahead of Denmark\'s upcoming presidency of the EU which starts at the beginning of next year. Thorning-Schmidt and Cameron will discuss the current economic situation in the EU, as well as its handling of the escalating eurozone sovereign debt crisis. The two leaders will also \"discuss a range of foreign policy issues including Afghanistan and the Middle East,\" the statement added. On Thursday, the Danish prime minister will meet with Merkel in Berlin. They will discuss Denmark\'s EU presidency, as well as other issues of cooperation in the 27-member union, including the handling of the debt crisis, the statement said.
