China will explore channels and forms for the public to participate in legislation activities in an orderly manner, says a white paper released Thursday by the Chinese government. China will improve panel discussions, feasibility study meetings, hearings on legislation and the gathering of public opinion through the publication of draft laws and regulations, says the white paper titled The Socialist System of Laws with Chinese Characteristics released by the Information Office of the State Council. The country will also establish and improve the mechanism through which public opinion can be heard and feedback can be given, says the white paper. In this way, legislation will better reflect the will of the public, it says. China aims to improve legislation quality by establishing and improving a mechanism featuring feasibility studies before making legislation and evaluation after making legislation, according to the white paper.
