Chiefs of staff of certain countries will meet in the Jordanian capital of Amman to handle security and regional issues in the coming days, sources said. The Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a statement that the news of the state news agency PETRA did not reflect reality which said \" Chiefs of Staff of the Friends ofSyria Group will hold a meeting in Amman on Saturday.\" The statement did not elaborate on the exact date of the meeting, which is regarded by the Jordanian military sources as a good opportunity for an exchange of views between the participant countries and for discussing the recent incidents in the region including those in Syria. PETRA retracted the said news following the statement of the Chief of Staff. The chiefs of staff of Jordan, the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Canada will gather in Amman in the next days to discuss regional security and implications of the ongoing crisis in Syria, an official military source at the Jordan Armed Forces said. Upon an invitation by Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mishaal Zaben and Commander of the US Central Command General Lloyd J. Austin, the meeting to be held aims also at discussing military cooperation between these countries and Jordan to preserve Jordan\'s security and the safety of its people, the source added. The source confirmed that the meeting is a continuation of bilateral and multilateral meetings which will be succeeded by further meetings in the future to continue coordination between the said countries and evaluate recent events and their impact on the security of the region in general.
