Egypt called on the Tunisian authorities to respect the will of the Egyptian people who were \"solely entitled to chart their own map for the future.\" Speaking to reporters Sunday evening, Foreign Ministry\'s spokesman Bader Abdulati said: \"The Egyptian people expressed their will on June 30, 2013. \"The internal situation in Tunisia is in turmoil; this is why Cairo refrains from making any comments on it whatsoever,\" he said, expressing desire to maintain friendly ties with Tunisia. Abdulati made the remarks hours after Egypt Ambassador Ayman Mesharrafa came back from Tunisia in response to the foreign minister\'s decision to recall him. The Egyptian authorities have been simmering with rage since Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki called, in his speech to the UN General Assembly on Thursday, for the release of Egypt\'s ousted president Mohamed Morsi and all political detainees. The Egyptian presidency expressed regret that Marzouki \"failed to know the reality of the situation in Egypt.\"
