The Brazilian Government congratulated the Tunisian people for the success of the first democratic elections in Tunisia, held on October 23, 2011, to form the National Constituent Assembly (NCA). In its congratulatory message, the Brazilian government writes that actions of the Tunisian National Constituent Assembly, which include the appointment of a new governmental team and the definition of the country's fundamental legal framework, represent an important stage in the course of the democratic transition in Tunisia. It also emphasises that the Tunisian NCA elections have had a special meaning in the context of the Arab Spring.
