US Vice President Joe Biden left for Mexico City, Mexico, the first stop on a two-day trip to Mexico and Honduras, it was announced here late Sunday. The Office of the Vice President said in a statement that in Mexico, Biden will meet with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and the three major party candidates for the presidency. It added that in Honduras, Biden will \"hold consultations\" with President Lobo Sosa and then meet with Central American leaders \"to discuss the full range of bilateral, regional, and international issues.\" \"The Vice President will also consult with our regional partners about the Summit of the Americas, scheduled to be held in Colombia in mid-April, which will focus on leveraging Hemispheric connections and partnerships to improve the lives of people throughout the region,\" according to the statement.
