Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayeb on Sunday called for forming a Muslim scholars' alliance to deal with problems and challenges facing the Islamic world along with mulling contemporary jurisprudence Issues.

During a meeting with Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Ash-Shaikh, the grand imam said peoples of the Arab and Muslim world is waiting from scholars to find solutions for issues concerning them.

The meeting aimed to mull means to activate plans and initiatives that King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed during a meeting with Al Tayeb at Al Azhar on Saturday.

King Salman is on a five-day visit to Egypt, accompanied by a high-level Saudi delegation.
