Asian Shooting Confederation talks on Friday discussed preparations for Kuwait\'s hosting of HH the Amir\'s Third International Shooting Grand Prix early next year and an accompanying Asian event. Kuwait is set to host the international competition between March 7th and 16 at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Ranges Complex, and the event will be held in unison with the Seventh Asian Airgun Championships, said the Asian shooting body\'s President Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah. The Kuwaiti official was speaking in his added capacity as Vice-President of the International Shooting Sports Federation, adding that the talks also discussed Asia\'s application of newly-adopted laws by the ISSF, in addition to the timetable, venues and preparations for upcoming events and training programmes. The president also welcomed the attendance of the Asian body\'s Chairman of the Technical and Judges Committee South Korea\'s Kim Il Hwan and Chairman of the Planning and Development Committee Vanchigdorj Otgondemberel, along with several experts from Australia and Britain. On the Asian Airgun Championships due to be hosted by Kuwait next year, Chairman of the Kuwait Shooting Club Duaij Al-Otaibi said the event would provide qualification seats for the Youth Olympic Games, scheduled for Nanjing, China mid-2014. Meanwhile, the meeting brought together 15 members of the ASC\'s Technical and Judges Committee and 10 members of the Planning and Development Committee, Secretary of the Kuwait Shooting Club Obaid Al-Osaimi told reporters, adding that these two groups would together work to review steps required to implement the new international standards. The meeting tomorrow will address four Asian competitions, namely the Asian Shotgun and Union Championships both in Almaty, Kazakhstan (October 1-10), the East Asian Games in Tianjin, China (October 6-15), the Asian Airgun Championship and 25m and 50m Rifle/Pistol Competition in Tehran, Iran (October 19-25) and the South east Asian Games in Rangoon, Myanmar (December 11-22). On the local stage, he said the 2013/14 season is due to kick off with the Crown Prince Championship, organized by the club in October.
