Jerusalem - Maan
Israeli forces on Thursday suppressed a peaceful demonstration against Israel\'s so-called Prawer Plan, which could displace thousands of Bedouin families in the Negev desert. Forces assaulted two Palestinian men from Nablus Street and Damascus Gate and detained them. One of them was identified as Mohammad Hamad, 23. A Ma\'an reporter said others were injured. The demonstration launched from Damascus Gate toward Salah al-Din Street, passing by al-Sultan Suliman Street. When protesters arrived at Nablus Street near the US Consulate, Israeli mounted units prevented them from moving toward Damascus Gate and assaulted number of the protesters. Separately, another demonstration was launched from Nablus Street toward Damascus Gate. Clashes broke out between protesters and Israeli forces. Israeli forces fired stun grenades toward them while Palestinians threw stones. Protesters raised Palestinian flags and repeated slogans condemning the Prawer Plan.
