Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has said she will officially complain to the UN over Britain’s military activity around the disputed Falkland Islands. Fernandez accused British PM David Cameron of militarizing the long dispute, as the UK has sent its most modern warships to the islands, which Argentina refers to as the Malvinas and is demanding back. Prince William, the Queen’s grandson and second-in-line to the throne has also been deployed to the Falklands as a search and rescue helicopter pilot. “We will present a complaint to the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly as this militarization poses a grave danger to international security,\" President Fernandez said on Tuesday. “We cannot interpret in any other way the deployment of an ultra-modern destroyer accompanying the heir to the throne, who we would prefer to see in civilian attire.” The Falklands were seized by the British in 1833. In 1982, Argentine troops invaded the islands but were defeated by British forces.
