Cairo - Arab Today
Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Abul-Gheit on Wednesday stressed that Arab-African relations are good and shouldn't be negatively effected by the African tour of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In statements on Wednesday, Abul-Gheit highlighted Africa Union's (AU) pro-Palestine stances, topped by supporting the Palestinian Cause in international forums.
Netanyahu's tours of African countries neighbors to Arabs aims to break isolation suffered by Israel due its occupation of the Palestinian territories, the AL cheif said, adding that Israel is promoting itself as "normal"state that has the ability to contribute to offering security and development for others.
Commenting on the Quartet's latest report, Abul-Gheit said that he was disturbed by the mechanism of preparing the report and terms used in describing the Palestinian- Israeli conflict.
Citing Quartet's focus on the threats to Israeli security rather than its settlement policies, the AL chief described the Quartet as being biased.
