The Algerian Army launched a wide-scale combing operation on borders with Mali after the infiltration of a group of five armed terrorists, security sources told the Algerian Al Khabar newspaper on Friday.

The sources added that an unprecedented state of security alert prevailed on borders in Al-Khalil area, nearly 285 km north of the border sub-province of Bordj Badji Mokhtar after the army received information about the infiltration of the terrorists in Bordj Badji Mokhtar area.
