The 4th European Union-Arab League Ministerial Meeting kicked off on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis Alaghinawa, who is also the current president of the AL council, AL Secretary General Ahmed Abul-Gheit and EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini.
The meeting will discuss boosting cooperation between Arab countries and the European side, in addition to a host of issues, topped by the existing cooperation between the two sides since 1974.
During their meeting, the Arab and EU ministers will focus on topics related to fighting terrorism, illegal migration and transnational organized crimes, as well as threats emanating from weapons of mass destruction.
The ministers will also discuss an Arab proposal for holding a regular Arab-EU summit to mull challenges facing Arab and European countries.
