An officer in the Yemeni army was killed in a ride-by shooting next to his home by a group of unknown gunmen. The gunmen are believed to belong to al-Qaeda. Eye witnesses told Arabstoday that they saw two gunmen on motorcycles open fire on the officer, Khaldoun Yahya Malik. He was shot in the head and died instantly, sources said. Security sources said more than 65 Yemeni policemen and soldiers were killed this year in similar ways, with motorcycle gunmen attacks.
