Cairo - Akram Ali
Mr Farid El-Deeb, lawyer to former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, revealed that the health of the ousted leader is seriously deteriorating.
According to El-Deeb, Mubarak has lost almost half his body weight and is suffering from internal bleeding.
The prison hospital and prison service authority requested the transfer of Mubarak to Maadi military hospital, to conduct tests unavailable at his current location. The Secretariat of the armed forces has refused to respond.
Speaking to Arabstoday, El-Deeb referred to a medical report from May 2011 claiming that Mubarak cannot walk without assistance because he suffers from bone atrophy. The prison hospital is incapable of treating him properly, El-Deeb added.
"It's shameful that a leader can end up like this," he said.
