Rabat - Judy Sabbagh
Members of the Moroccan House of Representatives have expressed their disappointment at being described as "sheep" by Moroccan newspaper Economist.
In a recent publication, the newspaper criticised the House's negative stance on trade and the reduction in the additional value of Morocco’s exports. Economist's managing editor Nadia Salah attacked Moroccan parliamentarians by writing that officials acted like sheep, adding that Moroccan parliamentarians do not bear any responsibility.
In a statement, the parliamentarians strongly rebuked the editorial claim and reiterated their respect for journalistic freedom of expression. They also called on journalists to bear responsibility.
