Joint UN-Arab League envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi, arrived to Cairo early Thursday morning after concluding meetings in China to solve the Syrian crisis. Diplomatic sources told Arabstoday the Brahimi will meet the Secretary General of the Arab League, Nabil al-Arabi, and Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Kamel Amr, to discuss the latest developments in the Syrian issue. During his visit to China, Brahimi had discussions with officials about the Syrian situation, the necessity to stop the violence as soon as possible and providing suitable conditions and atmosphere to start the political transition process and finding a political solution. Brahimi went to China after holding discussions in Russia at the beginning of this week about the methods to stop the increasing violence in Syria. China and Russia are counted as Syrian allies. They rejected three decisions that were supported by the West and Arab countries in the International Security Council to hold the Syrian regime responsible for the violence.
