Gaza - Mohammad Habib
A military wing of the Gaza-based Islamic Jihad movement warned Israel on Thursday that any Israeli violation of the truce reached between the Palestinian and Israel on Wednesday, will be responded to immediately.
Spokesperson for the al-Quds Brigades, Abu Ahmad, stressed that his group will be on high alert against any possible Israeli aggression.
Abu Ahmad affirmed that al-Quds Brigades have used "only a little" of their military potential in the eight-day conflict which broke out on November 14 - adding that al-Quds Brigades are well equipped to be engaged in any further military conflict if Israel decides to bomb the Gaza Strip again.
An Egyptian-brokered ceasefire was reached between the armed factions of Gaza and Israel on Wednesday night, to end eight days of Israeli airstrikes against Gaza and Palestinian rocket attacks against Israeli cities including Tel Aviv.
Medical sources said nearly 170 Palestinians were killed during the Israeli raids and up to 1,500 were injured.
