Israeli military sources confirmed on Sunday evening that a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip, landed in an open area near Ashkelon in southern Israel.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, said that the Israeli army monitored a rocket launch from Gaza for the first time since the military operation "Pillar of Clouds" and the truce agreement between the two countries.
Reports added that the missile fell in an open area, noting that the military detected another two failed attempts to launch missiles from Gaza which exploded inside the Palestinian side.
