Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn meets with Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and South Sudanese President Silva Kiir on Friday, at a summit in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. Desalegn met with both presidents separately in the presence of high-ranking African Union officials, before a scheduled summit aiming to bridge significant differences between the two states. Bashir and Kiir will end the summit with a joint meeting at the Ethiopian presidential palace. Issues surrounding Sudan’s public sector and sending aid to armed Sudanese rebels will likely be discussed.
