Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra

A delegation from the Arab League (AL) will arrive to Algeria, on Sunday, in an official mission to participate in monitoring the legislative elections, scheduled to be held on May 4. The mission is headed by Ambassador Hadia Sabri, Director of the Elections Secretariat, at the invitation from Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra to Secretary General of the AL, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
A statement issued by AL, on Saturday, said that the delegation is scheduled to meet with the concerned authorities, starting with the national committee responsible for organizing the elections, the Independent High Electoral Observation Body, the officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Justice and Communication and the political parties participating in the parliamentary race.
"The visit aims to identify the latest preparations in the preparation of these elections, and the completion of all logistical arrangements related to the participation of the mission of AL, and listen to various observations and visions on the course of the electoral process," the statement read. 
The head of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Abdelwahab Darbal, announced that the number of lists belonging to the parties participating in the elections of reached 53 lists of 60 parties, 50 of them to parties and 3 of them to coalitions.
The Ministry of the Interior of Algeria ended preparations, on Thursday, for the upcoming parliamentary elections and distributed the sites to announce the nominations to the political parties and the free lists.
