Security sources in North Sinai reported Saturday that local security authorities captured three African nationals as they attempted to enter Israel illegally through the Egyptian borders. The sources said that an Egyptian patrol had observed the trio trying to cross the barbed wire barrier separating the two countries at international border marker number 11, south of the Rafah border crossing leading into the Gaza Strip. When approached, the people traffickers accompanying the three men fired at the security forces and fled into the Egyptian territories, abandoning their three charges who were apprehended.
