Egyptian actress Rania Faried Shawky

Egyptian actress Rania Faried Shawky expressed her desire to perform the leading character in “My Beautiful Lady” play, saying that she performed this role before during her graduation project in Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts.

She stressed her aspiration to the presentation of the forth part of “Blood Series” TV drama show, and the comedy show “Bolbol and His Wife”. She revealed that she held a number of meetings with her sister Nahed to put the final touches in “Streets Sons” film, the latest to be written by her father Faried Shawky.

She underlined the role of art, describing it as the soft power in Egypt and the Arab world, as it leaves notable effects on our communities. She signaled to the films led by her father, including “They Turned Me to Criminal” and “Word of Honor”, saying that these films forced the authorities in Egypt to amend a number of laws.

She stressed that the honest artist always finds love in the hearts of his fans, saying that one of her father’s fans was keen to remain in the hospital during his illness. She added, “We, as the artist’s family, asked him to leave to take a rest, while he refused.”

She expressed her love to her sister Nahed, saying that her father was keen to strengthen their relations. She added that the drama is not limited to Ramadan, stressing that the quality of work is the main standard to attract the viewers. She added that “Stray Light” TV series was presented for the first time on Nile TV, a news English Channel, while it attracted a large number of viewers because of its high quality.

She praised the increasing number of satellite channels, saying that it is in the favor of arts, stressing that the production companies realized the importance of quality to withdraw the viewers from the Turkish and Indian drama and return them to the Egyptian drama.

She lamented the death of a number of Egypt’s senior actors, including Mahmud Abdel Aziz, Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Karima Mukhtar and Wael Nour, saying that they enriched the artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world.
