The UAE's first mobile field hospital to provide medical relief to Rohingya refugees has been dispatched.

The hospital is to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative medical services for children and the elderly under the supervision of a volunteer medical team from the UAE and Bangladesh. The mission is a collaboration between the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Society, Saudi-German Hospital Dubai and Sharjah Charity House.

Dr. Reem Osman, Humanitarian Ambassador for the Zayed Giving Initiative and CEO of Saudi German Hospital Dubai, said that the relief operation is part of the government's efforts to support Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

UAE heart surgeon Dr. Adel Al Shamri, Chief Executive Officer of the Zayed Giving Initiative, explained that the field hospital volunteer staff will work in coordination with official channels and in partnership with local Bangladeshi medical institutions, to build their capacities and enable them to participate effectively with the UAE medical volunteer team.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, said that the UAE's voluntary mobile field hospital for Bangladesh complements the nation's humanitarian efforts and its aid organisations' work to assist refugees around the world.
