Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil

Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil on Saturday paid an inspection tour to the refrigerated storage and the logistics zones at the Luxor International Airport.

The minister, who also visited the New Theba industrial zone, said Luxor has potential and great opportunities that can be exploited to diversify its sources of development through the expansion of industrial investments.

He said new projects can be carried out to use raw materials and products available in the governorate, in parallel with the tourism industry which should be promoted to create more jobs for young people.

The minister inspected the New Theba industrial zone, which, he said, is established on 382.71 feddans, including 207.66 feddans allocated for establishing projects.

The industrial zone offers many comparative advantages due to its distinct location, just 10km from the Luxor International Airport and 5km from the railway line and the Safaga port, said the minister.

Foodstuff, engineering industries, timber and construction materials are among investment opportunities available in the zone, he noted.
