Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan has attended the final ceremony of the Joint Maritime Exercise (Marine Safety 4).


It has been divided into two stages - theoretical and practical - to improve the participants’ skills and train the forces on efficient ways to carry out their search, rescue and firefighting operations.


It was held with the participation of the Coast Guard, Royal Bahrain Naval Force, the Police Aviation, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science.


The General Directorate of Media and Security Culture, the Executive Office of the National Disaster Management Committee and the Operations Directorate of the Public Security Presidency also took part in the exercise.


The Chief hailed the efforts of the organising committee and the participating teams throughout the five days of the exercise. He said that the event aimed to achieve cooperation between different participated sectors.


He highlighted the importance of such joint exercises to reinforce the role of the Coast Guard within the security system. He valued the support of Interior Minister in developing the Coast Guard and marine surveillance, through improving the skills of manpower, management and the utilisation of the latest technology, cameras, radars, vessels and other related tools.


The Chief expressed thanks to the Royal Bahrain Naval Force for the active participation and the Coast Guard and other participated teams for efforts that reflected in high performance. He wished all the best in serving the nation.
