Folkvänlig by Ikea

Folkvänlig by Ikea The first electric bike by Ikea is about to go on sale at the end of the month in select locations in Vienna. ‘Folkvänlig', a mixture of the Swedish words for 'people' and 'friendly', features an aluminum frame which contains a rechargeable battery. There is also a 250 watt motor on the front of the bike, which starts as soon as users start to drive.
Weighing 25 kg in total, the Folkvänlig isn't a lightweight option, but is sure to be a hit with eco-conscious cyclists. And with a pedal-assisted range of between 37 and 45 miles (60-72 km), it's a pretty attractive alternative to public transport, reports Treehugger.
The robust-looking two-wheeler, which has already won an IF design award, comes with six Shimano gears. The battery takes about five to six hours to charge to full capacity.
The Swedish furniture powerhouse has chosen Austria as the test country for the e-bike, and models are expected to be in store from the end of May. The models will retail for €749.
