Dr. Hisham al-Sharif,

Dr. Hisham al-Sharif, a researcher in sexology, revealed that some people disagree on the fact of man's betrayal for his wife, there are those who believe that all men betray their wives, but the truth is that betrayal is not always limited to the husband, there are also wives who betray their husbands.
"The most is in men, for one reason that a man does not need feelings and love when having sex with another woman, but woman needs to feel love and safety during the sexual relation," al-Sharif said.

In interview with Arabs Today, Dr. Al-Sherif summed up that the reason for the betrayal of women is that they need feelings of love, safety, attention and respect. As for the causes of betrayal among men, he said that they are summarized in sex reasons as following:

The first reason is pleasure in sex, even if the wife satisfies this desire of men, but many men tend to diversify and multiplicity because just thinking about sex irritates them.
Second, the most common is that a man is not happy in his marriage. Instead of dealing with it and looking for solutions to fix the marital relationship or make an effort to restore love to the relationship, the man finds a quick solution to the problem and looks for sex somewhere else.

The third reason is man's selfishness, when he gets compliments from his work colleague or any girl on the street or anywhere else, he believes he is still attractive, proving to himself that he is still young and desirable.

The fourth reason is to escape responsibility, when a sexual relationship with a woman other than the wife, there is no need to assume any responsibilities, it is a temporary relation.

The fifth reason is hereditary, if the husband grew up in a family, in which betrayal took place, he accepts it and arises on the idea, because the father or uncle or even the older brother have done so before.

The sixth reason is that men thought they were better than women. Therefore, man has the right to betray because he is a "male" and for no other reason.
Al-Sherif  said that no matter how many causes of betrayal, it is a terrible and unforgivable act. "Betrayal is the strongest reason for separation and divorce, because it removes trust from its roots," he added.

He said that the social networking site "Facebook" is today behind one third of divorce cases that are monitored in the Arab world. "The United States also has monitored 66% of the divorce due to Facebook," he stated.
