Prices of manufactured goods went up 1.6% in Algeria in the month of July

Prices of manufactured goods went up 1.6% in Algeria in the month of July Algiers – Khaled Alouche Consumer prices in Algeria climbed 3.5 percent in July compared to the same period in 2012, while annual inflation stayed at 6.1 percent, Algeria’s national statistics office said on Monday .
Meanwhile in July, the average level of food prices went up by 4.2 percent, agricultural products by 6 percent and industrial food goods by 2.5 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Prices of services also increased in July by 5.7 percent more than the prices of manufactured goods that went up 1.6 percent.
The price index went up during the first five months of 2013 by 4.8 percent due to rising food prices as well as agricultural and industrial products.
Inflation rate declined gradually in the early 2013 after hitting 8.9 percent in 2012 to stay in the range of 8.6 percent in February, 8.1 percent in March, 7.4 percent in April and 6.9 percent in May.
The index prices declined by 0.4 percent in July compared to the previous month.
