Egypt's Defense Minister General Mohammad Zaki and his Counterpart Joseph Votel.

Egypt's Defense Minister General Mohammad Zaki and Commander of the US Central Command General Joseph Votel discussed on Saturday military cooperation between the two countries in the light of the regional and international developments.
The Egyptian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on the meeting which dealt with the efforts of the Egyptian armed forces in the fight against terrorism and achieving security and stability in the region, and the 2018 Bright Star exercises held at Mohammad Najeeb military base with the participation of troops from Egypt and the US alongside a number of countries.
General Zaki expressed pride in the partnership between the Egyptian and American armed forces and looks forward to seeing more cooperation in all fields, said the statement.
Zaki praised the Commander of the US Central Command for successfully achieving security, stability, and combating terrorism, while stressing the depth of the strategic partnership and cooperation extended between Egypt and the US.
In the same context, the Chief of the General staff of Egypt's armed forces Lt. General Mohammad Farid discussed with General Votel a number of files and topics of mutual interest in the light of military cooperation relations and joint exercises between the armed forces of the two countries.
