Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will pay a visit to Sudan, the first ever, on January 17.

The two-day visit comes at an invitation by Sudanese President Omar al Bashir with the aim to probe a number of important issues of mutual concern. 

Summit talks between the two presidents will focus on mechanisms by which to boost joint cooperation and coordinate stances at international gatherings. 

A number of protocols and memorandums of understanding will also be signed during Lukashenko's visit.
